Posting this to see if anyone else has had this happen to them while flying with Allegiant Air? And to see if they were successful in getting reimbursed? Sorry, this is kind of a long story...

On Sunday I was scheduled to fly out of Montana to come back home. We arrived at the airport early and waited for our flight out at 10:30. They tell us there is a problem with the planes door and the flight would be delayed a couple of hours while they repaired it. Finally around 3pm we are able to board the plane. As we're sitting there waiting to take of, we can see the flight attendant trying to close the door for about 20 mins. Then they make another announcement on the plane that they found another problem with the door so we would have to get off the plane. Eventually they cancelled the flight and told us the next flight out was Thursday! 4 days later. They offered a $150 voucher and refunded that portion of the flight, about $100. They would not pay for our hotel/food.

We scrambled to find another flight. Finally found one on another airline, but had to pay an additional $900 for that flight. Only other option was to wait 4 days, pay for the extra days in a hotel, and fly home then. So, I was stuck in the airport/hotel for two days and am out about $900. Have any of you had an experience with Allegiant Air like this? Were you successful in getting reimbursed any of the money? Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to approach this with them?

I don't think I have ever flown them. I avoid the discount guys like frontier and spirit.

Last two times American canceled flights and I couldn't get out that day, I received a coupon for a discounted hotel. They would not cover lodging, etc. You're probably not going to get much satisfaction on this deal.

I'm not expecting to get much from them, but it's worth a shot at trying to get some of my money back. I can't believe they treated all of us like that and didn't offer anything to us.

There is only one language they will understand

One of my employees had a flight out of New York scheduled on Allegient Monday, and before boarding they cancelled the flight due to not enough passengers. Next flight was 30 hours later and landed in a different town. He ended up landing in Houston and taking a bus back to San Antonio.

Not so sure I wouldn't of just rented a car and drove back.

One of the reasons I just drive it anyway. No worth the head ache.

Cheapest tickets in Arizona and absolutely the worst service and dependability.

I haven't flew Allegiant in years....'bout 56 of them.
