Mega side imaging is +$300 to the "regular" side imaging. Any opinions appreciated - is the Mega visibly clearer?

I do not have one myself but from what I have read from people who DO have MEGA and what I have seen in comparison pics.... YES, it is worth EVERY penny.

Here's Slade's number from an earlier post. i'd be interested in what he charges for a graph setup.

I have the regular Helix 9 DI SI and GPS. I was very disappointed in the overall clarity of the of the returns. I asked around on here and was told that the 9 has the lower resolution than the 10 and 12. With that being said I spent quite a while on the water playing around with it and got it to look a lot better. Still not anywhere close to what the newer versions look like.

If you get the Helix 9 G1, you will also need to upgrade your transducer to the HDSI transducer; that's an added cost you may not have taken into account.

The Mega images are much clearer than the gen1 SI. It is worth every penny to get the G2 Mega. I also have a Gen1 I use on the bow and I just swapped out the 9 for a 10 because the resolution is a lot better. There are a lot more pixels in the 10 and the unit size is the exact same which is why the 10 is a lot clearer than the 9.

The HDSI transducer will provide sharper images to ANY unit that comes with the Compact SI transducer. That is because the transducer is 2" longer, has longer Imaging crystals that produce a thinner Imaging pulse= sharper images. It won't change the unit display quality. The Helix 10 display has about 3,000 more pixels per square inch and the gen1 SI model comes with the HDSI transducer. The MEGA SI G2N Helix 9, Helix 10, and Helix 12 comes with the same MEGA SI transducer.

Yes for high quality images, even better with the Helix 10, Helix 12, or SOLIX 12 SI.
Keep in mind that the 1200 kHz as well as the 800 kHz has less coverage and range than 455 kHz.
Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 10 G3, Helix 15 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, Helix 8 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 12 G3, MEGA 360, MEGA LIVE TL , MEGA LIVE 2, Xplore 10
