Well Dad and I decided to hit Tawokini on Thursday.
Started out the morning with a 2 hour Delay due to a dead truck battery. Long Story.
Got to the lake about "Broil My Skin" time. Darn Hot is an understatement.
Fished lots of Timber that has been producing for us. They were scattered.
Had 1 Crappie after an hour of fishing that we lost because he decided to go entertain himself in the trolling motor while it was running.
Not even a single dink.
Moved Moved Moved.
Finally found some trees holding fish.
Caught around 75 only problem was only 14 were keepers.
The big ones were on vacation.
ACC 10 Foot Rod
Purple and White Feather jig.
Water depth 15-36 Feet.
Strike Zone 16 Feet was the sweet spot.

This was the Live Well with our 14 keepers.
Decided to give Fork a go yesterday. Lots of boats for a Bass Tournament.
We were fishing various Timber hard, but we were struggling to find them.
At 1pm yesterday we had a Grand Total of 1 Crappie.
Very Frustrating morning to say the least.
Moved Moved Moved Moved.
Finally found some Timber holding fish and it became a Slab Slinging Fest!
ACC 10 Foot Rod.
A Bright Chartreuse Feather jig think River Cane.
Water depth 15-36 feet
Strike Zone 16 Feet was the sweet spot.
Finished with a 2 man limit of 50!
Left them biting.

This was the Livewell From Yesterday with the first 30.

Dad and I about to start cleaning fish this morning. No clue how to make the pictures display correctly.
We gave 15 or so fish to some bank folks at the ramp last night that were not catching anything.
Crappie especially in the Summer Funk mode can be a chore to find and make bite at times.
Just read some of the others posting with the same problem.
We tried multiple depths, multiple jigs, jig colors and multiple different presentations.
Every day is different and what worked yesterday might not work today.
Areas we caught them in yesterday might yield nothing the next.
Just like you hear the guides preaching on here that if you are not getting bit then MOVE!
We covered a lot of lake yesterday and we were constantly on the move.
It was Hot without a doubt and we welcomed the West breeze.
Keep moving until you find them. Every day somewhere on the lake they are biting.
Persistence paid off for us yesterday.
At 1pm only having 1 Crappie if you would have told me that we would finish with a 2 man limit I would have probably bet against myself.
We did not have any slime to show for our effort.
Amazing feeling when you finally find them.
Wear your Sunscreen and Drink Lots and Lots of Water!
Our ACC 10 Foot Rods were smoking at the end of the day.
All in all it was two great days of fishing with my Dad.
Thankful he is still here and able to fish with me.
Even if we get skunked I'm just happy to spend time with him.
Making memories.
Tight Lines!
