Couple of more tips for ya Toad ( experienced advise lol ) have ( beg ) your wife to make some cloth or leather covers for your Lowrance. It will keep bugs/road grime off of them and also keep the covers from blowing off. Never been to any lake that I didn't run into bugs on the way. Also get rid of that old transom saver and get you a Motor Mate. See pic. You can do what you will with these tips and advise you get on here but only wanting to help. Most of them come from years of experience from owning a boat and fishing.

Congratulations! 2nd the MotorMate. That old stick style "motor toter" will scarf up the pretty new paint on that new lower unit...quickly(if that matters to you). Also a real heavy rubber band or Velcro strap will save those graph covers. https://motormateusa.com

Nice ride... my tip is hook that bow strap to the boat before you leave! Unless I'm see something different it looks to be unhoooked.

Ricky, you forgot to add, "You will spend every extra dime you make on your new boat" Yeah that and tackle. All part of the fun Ken. I'm sure we'd both be wealthy if we had all the money we've spent on fishing but look at all the fun we've had. We're both still having fun too aren't we. I was just out in the garage getting the boat ready for a trip and was looking at all the [censored], I mean lures, in my Plano boxes and that doesn't include all the loose packages. It's an addiction. I'm convinced there is nothing we won't do or money we won't spend to catch fish, lol. Yea, Ken has all the fishing stuff and is wealthy, too. Some people just get all the breaks! That's a sharp boat, Hookin....proud for ya. If you need "boating lessons 101" just holler and I'll take ya out. We can try and get Ken to buy us lunch if we see him on the water.

Don't know if Ken is wealthy Okie but he sure is a humble man and generous to a fault. I guarantee he would buy you both lunch and you wouldn't even have to ask. One good dude.

Get the MotorMate.

[/quote] Thank you! And yes, please. I would appreciate a trip very much. Today was rough at Ray Bob in 20 mph winds but I didn't get skunked. It's definitely a big learning curve.
If you can't find em wind em.
