What most people fail to realize is these real pro fishermen have a god given ability to locate and catch fish. No different than the natural musician or natural athlete has.Not only do they have the talent and ability to catch fish and lots of them you must realize this is their job. And the best ones are on top. Most of these guys have forgot more about locating, searching and understanding the Bass than most of us would ever know. They are not just good. They have all the tools and ability to do their job well. Only one thing, All of them are underpaid for what they do. Their expenses can exceed over 100 k a year for a full schedule taking in consideration all the what ifs that occur. And 99% of these guys are no different than you and I as far as people go. They are just doing their job.

I have had the pleasure of seeing some of these guys up close and personal many times. Some of the lower tier guys are much the same as us or your local guides, but the middle to upper tier guys will spank us at major league fishing format, 5 fish format or any other format you dream up, AT YOUR FAVORITE LAKE. We might get lucky once in a while, but most of the time their knowledge and instincts will win out.

I dont think any reasonable person is going to deny they are much better than the rest of us, I just dont believe MLF has done much to persuade me this.

Increase the size limit to 16" and then lets see what happens.

When they were on raybob they had no idea where to fish for the most part. Kvd was chunking a jerk bait the whole time and caught nothing of size. Most of the good holes went untouched

They are good. But, they are fishing in the spring and anybody that bass fishes knows where they are going to be. Would like to see them on a Texas lake in July. Was fun to watch.

I like watching KVD and when he catches a fish he goes "ummmhmmm" and then 3 fish later he seems to have the whole figured out. Most of the time anyways, didn't work so well on Kurth.

+1

Always someone here who doesn't suffer from "idol worship" to point out the reality of it all. thumb

Obviously they're good, and I enjoy watching and learning from them. HOWEVER, it does kinda [censored] me off that I have to pay for everything from hooks to the bass boat, and they get everything free. They're basically paid to fish. Why does it [censored] me off? Because I want that job.

This is what everyone thinks and it's not entirely true. There is WHOLE lot more to it than the average "in the know" guy actually knows.
Keep your day job, trust me on this.

Man everybody catches a bunch 12"-14" of fish at Jacksonville I'm not impressed. Those guys only had to catch a 12" minimum fish. Those aren't legal fish. Jacksonville is 18" minimum with two under 14" for everyone else.

Funny thing is: I see the locals winning the BASS Opens on Rayburn, Toledo ect.

Ish Monroe supposedly got mad and quit during Day 3 at Ray Roberts because he said the lake only had small fish (or something like that). He shows up on the score tracker with 0 scoreable bass. I think the best competitors figure out what it takes to win and work on that strategy.

I was fishing at RR on the day when they were at Grapevine. They had a trailer with the studio set up in the parking lot by the boat ramp at Isle du Bois. They filmed some of the scenes and updates that you see right before or after the commercials. I didn't see the actual filming but I talked to a guy on the crew there. I did not see Sheli Sanders.

I'd sure love for them to fish some of the South/Central Texas lakes.
