The click of the safety on a 12 gauge that already had 🔥 in the hole. Never give away you intent or less action racking the pump.

I keep my house at 80 anyway so 85 wouldn't be that bad. But the checking in to a motel thing might help your disposition. Good luck

Not unless your policy has a loss of use/additional living expenses coverage. If you've got it, you more than likely have to have proof you went and stayed somewhere before they'll pay you for it.

In college I worked part time for my wife's uncle who owns one of those type companies. I hope your ordeal is nearly over Kat, but it may just be beginning. peep

Sorry you are having problems, I got out of bed one morning to a splash. Only soaked half of the room but had to have the floor in the bathroom chipped out right next to the outside main beam.
Lucky we caught it quickly so no mold and did not stink.
Best wishes.

One thing you can try so you can sleep is to turn the fans off and crank the A/C as cold as you can stand it overnight. The A/C actually works as a dehumidifier too. The air in the house is probably very humid right now and cooling it off will cause a lot of condensation on the A/C coils and dry the air out. The dry air will then be able to absorb more moisture.

Sorry to hear that Kat. We went through something similar with a freezer water line flooding the entire downstairs. Ruined all the hardwoods. We had the same fans and a db floor guy but luckily insurance covered our hotel stay.

The two most identifiable sounds in a pitch black room: racking the action of a 12 gauge pump and/or a 1911. Especially scary if you are not supposed to be in that pitch black room.

I dunno about that. All my self-defense weapons stay loaded 24/7. I'm not giving anyone a fix on my location in a dark room by chambering a round. If you're in my house at night, I'm not going to be trying to scare you away.

I always get worried when my wife tells me "I love you". I know my wallet is about to take a hit.

Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.

Prayers you get out of your mess quick. Why hasn't insurance put y'all up in a hotel room? I would think with your sister's and your husband's medical problems at least they know you cannot stay in a hot house.
