Picked up a new 7'2" rod to run wacky rig or finesse. Trying to stay $100 or so on the reel. Looking for some recommendations on a decent reel to match and what you guys might spool it with for this type set up.
Never tried braid much but willing to experiment.
Thanks for any help.

Shimano NASCI. Thank me later.

Anything above a Sahara in the shamano line up will last under hard use...2500 will be great.
The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

13 Fishing Creed GT. If you can spend a little more Abu Garcia Revo SX is awesome.

It is a little over your $100 price range but the Lews Team Pro Speed Spin is a solid buy for $130.

Pflueger president. For about $50 you won't beat it.

Shimano Nasci would be my choice.
New technologies work their way down to less expensive products and the Nasci has many of these that are not found in cheaper Shimano reels and other brands.
It is heavier than my Ci4+, not made from the same super light material, but it looks, feels, performs very similar to the higher priced reels.
2500 or 3000 for bass.
10 lbs. braid is enough for the types of presentations spinning reels should be used for. You could catch a pretty large tarpon on 10 lbs. braid.

Pflueger President(either model the $50 or the $70 one). Shimano Sahara. Quantum Throttle. All great reels for under $100.
or get the Pflueger President or Trion spinning combo for $70 and $60 respectively(bass pro) and have another rod to switch between!! I've had Trion combos for over 10 years now.
