I posted this a few years ago but, I think it's worth repeating. Most of us take care about the sun and UV protection. I had the bad experience finding out about not including covering my ears over the years! Don't let this happen to you. I lost almost 1/2 of one of my ears and the Dr still wants to take off more!! Use UV protection, cover up and don't forget to cover your ears as well. A baseball cap just won't do it
Just thought I would pass this along, as full blown summer heat and sun is here God Bless Lee

Thanks Lee.
I went to a Sun Armor wide brimmed straw hat for mowing and fishing...anytime I'm going to be outdoors for an extended time. It also helps keep the noggin cool.

I used sunscreen in the old days and still have some problems. Basil cell started showing up right about when I turned 50 and my time in the sun was 20 years prior. Two Moh's (sp) surgeries plus other ones frozen. Yep it's very easy to forget about sun exposure on your ears fishing with a ball cap.

I've went to long sleeve, Columbia wide brim with neck protector, and a huk face mask. Stay cool and protected

Good reminder Lee. I started wearing a gator and gloves a couple years ago. I too have problems with skin cancer. Something else I would remind everyone to do is stay hydrated (especially us older folks). Dehydration sneaks up on you and can put you down quick this time of year.

Thanks for the reminder, Lee. I had Mohs surgery on my face 2 years ago. Since then, I use sun screen, wear long sleeve shirts with UV protection, and HUK face, ears, and neck mask with UV protection. Everyone should remember that the skin cancer you get is often the result of many cumulative years of exposure, even back to your teens! Praying for the best outcome for you! Have missed your posts!
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

What are the signs/symptoms of skin cancer? Just curious, thanks There are many sites on the computer to help you with this. If you've been exposed to the sun most of your life then an annual check-up with a dermatologist is a good idea. http://www.cancercenter.com/skin-cancer/symptoms/
