Has anyone on here used a web site like Rushmypassport.com or one of the other ones? We are trying to book a Mexico Resort vacation next month and just realized our passports go out next month. Are those web sites OK to use?

I can't speak to that particular site, but I've used those services before even when I had never had a passport and they delivered

There is a passport office in Dallas.

https://travel.state.gov/content/passpor...ies/dallas.html

You need to make an appointment.

Those services don't do anything you cannot do yourself. You can also expedite it through the post office if you don't qualify for the passport office rush requirements.

You can go to a passport office and have it expedited. You will have to pay extra to have it expedited.

This is probably your best bet.. May cost a little more but usually can have it back in less than 2 weeks.

This is what it cost us two years ago. We went to the government website and went to the expedite area and got them within two weeks.

Just did the same two months ago, follow the on-line instructions, easy breezy. No need to pay a third party a premium.

Post Office, make an appointment, show up with all the right stuff, and pay to have it expedited.

This^^

If I had it to do over again, when I renew next time I'd also pay the small fee extra to also get the little wallet card thing.
I think - not 100% certain but i think that little card will get you in and out of Mexico and you might not need to take your real passports. I'd want 100% confirmation on that before I left my passport at home. Stolen passports are a hot commodity I'm told. With that little card, at least you could leave your real passports locked up in the hotel safe.

Don't carry the passport around with you when in another country unless really needed. Carry a photocopy.

Just be careful with it.

The passport card is only good for nearby land crossings and seaports.

I just renewed my wife's. Used the regular passport website. Overnighted everything with prepaid overnight return envelope and got the renewal back in 8 days

We had to renew our boys before we left, didn't realize they were expired until three weeks before we left. Went to post office and had them expedited and received them in 7 days. Cost a life more but they got here quick.
