I think the heat is boiling some brains down there....
There are no less than 1000 lakes in MN that are better than the top 1 in tx for smallies.
As for me moving, thats the plan. Deep winter months in deep TX and hot summers in MN and archery hunt in between for giant public land whitetail.

Not many guys here care about smallmouth, glad you do though. Guess we'll have to settle for useless 8-10lb largies...
As far as whitetail, take the passive aggressiveness to the hunting forum

As far as whitetail, take the passive aggressiveness to the hunting forum I know its a surprise to Y'all, but TX is not the best at everything. Hell, even CA is better for bass fishing while were on that topic. TX has great largie fishing and thats all, MN has great smallie and Musky fishing and thats all. Then the midwest is killer for whitetail hunting, thats all. Dont get all buthurt over facts.

To cold in MN to hot in TX.
Maybe retire and fish 3-4 months in each state and roam between the other months... Sounds like a great plan. I would love to be able to fish on 75 degree afternoons in the summer, as opposed to during the spring or fall when the wind is blowing 15-30 mph. The only times the weather is calm here are when it's either 30 degrees or 105. I will someday, hopefully sooner than later.

Dont get all buthurt over facts. The only fact that you have stated thus far is Minnesota has better smallmouth fisheries than Texas. Aside from that, you're spewing nothing but garbage.

No...
Fact the midwest has great whitetail hunting (no fences or feeders)
Fact Cali has some of the best bass fishing for all 3 species Fact TX has great largie fishing
Fact TX too hot and MN too cold
Fact Texans are touchy individuals...

Just got back from MN, fished there and here for the better part of my fishing life. You can catch boatloads of 3-5lb bass up there, we just did, but 6 is the biggest I've ever seen and 8.18 I believe from memory is the state record. No doubt TX has bigger bass, and great numbers too. To each their own, I like fishing up there better because I have it figured out more, and it's always fun to set the hook and not know if you have a bass or pike. But I am stoked to be fishing here again where setting the hook may mean a giant LMB, up there it's not really a possibility.
There are no fish in sonic pond EDIT: Except 1 20lb catfish

Fact Texans are touchy individuals... Fact..you are trolling like you normally do. Another fact, we don't call them largies in Texas. If you plan on coming here either assimilate or stay where you are. Past that you posted a lot of opinion.

. You're right, the midwest has great whitetail hunting. As for the "no feeders" comment, you hunt over or in between soybean and corn fields. Give me a break on your holier than though means and methods. Fact. I'm a little surprised you've been allowed to troll this long.

I go to St Clair for smallies once a year. That is all I need to get my fix.
Texas has it all.

How am I trolling Mark?
Someone said something about 1 pound fish in MN and I posted real numbers (rounded down) from a Bassmater Elite tourney.
