bigmo,
Haven't heard of anyone fishing Buffalo. I think most everyone is staying away. Be sure and post your results.

I went a few weeks ago and fished. I did not catch anything of any size. I got bored and started catching perch and bluegill till I got tired of that. They said the lake had the golden algea bloom two years ago and that it is just starting to recover. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Ya it had the algea about March 2003. I watched it and as far as the floating fish go, I didnt see many bass... mainly catfish and baitfish (things that had more direct consumption of it IMO). It looked bad though with the froth and gizzard shad just covering the edges of the cat tails... killed the fishing. When I get back to school, I'll check and see if Tech has done any recent shocks out there and what they found. From what I know its just going to be a few years before it recovers.

The ones out here that got hit like Grandbury and such are starting to do a lot better. No monsters but things are picking up quickly. Let us know how you do... I'm just hoping a decent population survived it, thats pretty wishful thinking though. It was a good little lake to go catch some good numbers at.
