Ok guys I've contemplated on posting this for a while but I feel there is a lot of guys like me have have had to deal with this. Here's my problem:

My stepdad passed away December 2014. It has taken awhile but my mom (68) is ready to start dating. Which I think is AWESOME! The problem is she and my stepdad were together for 37 years so she's extremely nervous about going on a date. She's been on a couple of dating sites but hasn't found anyone that she's interested in enough to go out with them. Even if she did I think I would have to push her out the door to get her to go. It's like taking your kid to kindergarten for the first time. Personally I don't like the online dating sites but I don't know a better alternative.

Have any of you gone through this with your parents?

My mom is married, but they have been going to a few "meet" parties I guess it's called. It's were they think a couple of olds would be a good match. So they just throw a party and the 2 olds meet and talk in a party atmosphere and they might or might not hit it off. Seems like a good idea and gives everyone a reason to party. I haven't followed up with her to see if any of them have hooked up. But I will now.

maybe grandpa can have his cab swing by on the way to put a battery in his car, some relationships have been built on less (maybe ?)

Wish my Dad would get out there and have some fun. My wife's 83 yr old Dad is just the opposite, he may catch something as his rate.

Bless her heart. I cant imagine starting over dating now either to be honest. I imagine i would be nervous as hell
