Most likely only one of the bites injected very little venom. Copperheads are notorious for dry biting. It takes a while for them to build up venom and they don't want to waste it on a non meal.

Glad to hear he's doing ok.

Final update (copied from his Mom's FB) :

THANK YOU! To everybody that has been praying, texting, following. Most of all thank you to those that have prayed. This situation could be so much worse than it has been. We've had some fantastic nurses and docs here at Arkansas Children's Hospital. They have made him very comfortable by just going with his little smart butt. He has loved his nurses and their wit. We are hoping to maybe go home this afternoon. I can't possibly forget to thank my mom, mother n law, cousin for helping with the kiddos. That took a huge amount of stress off me. My honey has been holding it down at home and making sure to get everything we wanted or needed together for whomever was heading uo here. Love you all so much and feel tremendously blessed

Thank YOU for the great update! Prayers up for continued healing, complete recovery and a long life where one day his grandkids will listen with wide eyes as he tells 'em about it!
