I have some of the Dobyns Fury rods and like them. As mentioned above, not as light as the Champion series, but still sensitive. Good rods for around $100 each. Hope this helps and yes, I am a BIG DOBYN'S rod fan, especially the CB rods. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Another + for Lew's rods and reels. Had the high dollar stuff and lost it also. Replaced everything with Lew's and it's not a big step down in results.

Sorry to hear this. Daiwa Aird X, No. 8 Tackle Blackout, and the Quantum Equalizer are good if you're on a tight budget. Also don't forget used rods No8 blackouts are on sale at TW right now for $46.72/each. The 7' MH would be good for a Texas rig or light jig rod. not much selection on them, but for under $100 you could fill two roster spots ... very good rod for the $

I'm scratching my head here? Your Insurance Company was informed that you'd be keeping your boat in a boat storage and the policy did not extend to your personal property/ fishing gear located inside of the boat storage? What company? Curious, I keep a boat storage in East Texas and South Texas.

However, homeowner's insurance typically covers any personal property including in storage, vacation, etc. There is usually a percentage limit based upon your total home policy. It's worth checking.

The Abu Garcia Veritas rods with the Lews speed spool are the way to go. I like the micro guides better though. Academy has the rods for 79.99 to 99.99 and the reels for 119.00. I have several carrot sticks but the Veritas with the fast tip are better in my opinion.

I only have one Veritas but I love it. I use it for c-rig and Texas rig mostly. It's 7'6" MH. Good rod for $68 at Tackle Warehouse but you'd better hurry, the sale ends tomorrow and they don't have many left.

Yes to the USA made Bucco I have a few these and they will perform and the price is reasonable. Falcon Bucoo for $100 if you're open to other brands. I love mine. Not too much a fan of the new ones since they shipped them over to China and didn't change the price. The black handle ones are made in the USA and are absolutely fantastic. Jason Christe Specials are made in the states as well i believe

If the Veritas breaks Abu will replace it. They have a 3 year warranty on rods. Just got a replacement for my Veracity and they actually bumped me up to a Villain. Didn't have the receipt, just sent them all the required info and said I didn't have a receipt and it was no problem. Only had to pay $9.95 for shipping.

Abu rods do run a bit stiffer though so keep that in mind. The MH Veritas is basically a broom stick. Love all my Abu rods though.
