Any one have a Humminbird AS PC3 Cable I could borrow to update my New HB Helix 5 sonar? I would gladly meet or pay for shipping both ways to borrow one. I just can't see paying 60$ for a cable for a one time use. Especially since I only paid a little over $100 for the whole unit. I am in central TX and would gladly meet up with anyone to do the update.

Don't you have an sd slot? You should be able to load update on sd card and update on the boat. Also download humminbird pc and you can manage your waypoints then use the sd card.

I wish it was that easy like y HB 898. I have just the Sonar version of the helix 5, so there is no SD slot. However, according to HB it can be updated via the special AS PC3 Cable.

SaltyDawg, I know what you mean on the price. I just bought one to update an old HB570. Decided not use the 570 for a while after updating 2 weeks ago. Your right one time use. Comes with the cable and the battery pack (you supply the batteries}. Tell you what I will let you have it for $20, and will include mailing it to you . If interested PM me with your address and I will get it in the mail to you next week. Cheap price so possibly later on someone else may need it and you could forward it to them.
