Been doing some drop shot fishing from the bank lately, and going thru sinkers like crazy.
My lake (Waco) has tons of rocks along the shoreline, so I am looking for a good weight that won't get lodged between all the rock ??????
I have used barrels style, and today I tried the round marble style that was sold as drop shot weights. Using 3/8 oz, I went thru 4 of them before I gave up.
Both the barrel and round style I have used has the fixed eyelet for line tying. Would I be better with the ones that have swivel type eyelets ???

Use the lightest weight possible, try 1/4 oz. I only use 3/8 when really windy or dropping on them in really deep water. The long cylindrical weights are better in rocks but none of them are snag proof. Bending them also helps a little.

I normally use the long cylindrical weights as well. And YES, Alan Henry has a BUNCH of rocky banks that I fish with them. Never had sas much luck with the split shot weights, either, but may just be me. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I always tied on barrel style. Recently bought a package of the cylindrical weights and love them.

They're not as apt to feel the weight and spit it out. And most of them have the swivel eyelet

Good advice above.
There are also "slinky" (?) style weights that would work well in rocks. They are soft and flexible so they don't get stuck sooooo easily.

Pear shaped or tear drop shaped weights work better in rocks. But they will get hung up some as well. Just not as much.

Of the one's I've used, the pear shape works best around rocks. I've always wanted to try those Lindy No-snag sinkers designed for c-rig--could easily modify them for drop shot. Here's a DIY "snag free" weight

I bought some like these (but not inline, cant find them on the website): Cabelas Weights I love them on my drop shot rod. I dont know that I will continue to buy them just because of the price point compared to the difference, but I do really like them if you have the money and desire to constantly re-stock them.
