Thought I ran one of my metal tanks dry the other day cause the motor got real throatie then died. So I changed the fuel line over to my other one and it did the same thing.
Finally got it restarted but, at full throtle it still sounded real throatie. It would only go at idle speed with the controls at WOT. Had to sorta massage the fuel line bulb to keep it even running at that speed.
Got it in my slip and it would idle fine but when trying to goto WOT it would get throatie and go back to no power again.

Think I could have a fuel filter stopped up? Or possibly something more serious?

Also has anyone ever tried to install in-line automobile fuel filter along with the outboard filters?

Sounds like a bad check valve in the bulb.

Sorry forgot to mention that I took the fuel line off of the outboard pressed in the valve and squeezed the bulb. It shot a solid stream of fuel about five feet. So the bulb and lines seem to be ok (at least untill they attach to the outboard).

Just a thought....

Does your fuel cap have a vent screw on it? If it's not open or is partially closed the motor may run at idle or a little over but when you go to WOT the motor starts starving....

(How did I know this......?)

Good Luck
