I have a 9x9 rim on the rear of my Honda TRX250. It currently has 22x10-9 tires on it. Is that the only size I can put on that rim?

If it only had two wheels I could probably help you.

you can run 27 I bet.
I replaced one of our honda foreman with swampers in 27, 9" up front, 10" in rear.
that is as big as it will handle without a lift of some sort.
measure center of hub to fender at the nearest point, dbl that measurement and subtract an inch or so for clearance.

I've read or heard that you should only go 1 size up. Reason being stress on the bearings.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

So would that be 25x10-9? Set of 4 Sun.F A033 ATV Tires 25x8-12 & 25x10-12, 6PLY Front&Rear as an example yes, better call the local honda dealer and ask what sizes will work on that, mine are 4x4 honda foreman and use the same wheels but may have different clearance on tires/fenders.

I've read or heard that you should only go 1 size up. Reason being stress on the bearings. it is not the bearings that are affected it is the gearing, going up in size reduces top speed and raises rpm to attain same speed as the smaller tire = more wear on engine trans etc. not a problem with what I do due to mostly all being under 25 mph on the foreman. the polaris as an example has 30's on it and we may go to 33" truck tires next, lift allowed the bigger tires and warranty was not affected by any of it.

If you increase the size of the rear tire, just go with a larger front sprocket to compensate, assuming it has one. There are a few shaft drives out there.

Just go to a Honda shop and buy a set of take offs, they may have a set for a Recon.

You can run whatever tires you want as long as you meet the rim diameter. So you can run a 27x10x9 if you want to. It's just like a car tire, height, width, wheel size. There are tons of brands to choose from as well, maxxis, Kenda, Interco, GBC, ITP. Go to Rockymountainatv/mc website and you'll find whatever you need.
