I am a life long bass fisherman and have catfished from the bank a lot when I was younger. What type of structure should I be looking for in North Texas lakes for catfish in the summer? What depths are you all focusing on too. Thanks for the assistance!

I fish Wright Patman and right now I'm fishing about 2 ft. to 4 ft. deep I fish the willows around the shore line in the morning and shade in the after noon. Punch bait slip cork rig.

Thanks for the starter opinions. My daughter and I are going out to Ray Roberts and want to give her every opportunity to catch a few cats. She wants to be a better fisherman and cats are my weak point. I was thinking slip bobber and punch bait rig with #4 or #6 treble.

Watch for stumps on Raybob if you go up in the north end creeks. Lots of kittys up there and they should be in and around the trees and any grass you can find. Wind blown flats and points should hold some fish. Chum a few places and get after it. The branch south of Jordan Park ramp has a few nice spots to work and is easy to get to.
From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

I usually launch from Buck Creek ramp when I bass fish. I know my way around the northern area pretty good at least west of that ramp. I have never ventured east of the ramp too far past the 377 bridge. Thanks for the tips!

I am catching most of my fish in 20 foot deep water right now on Lake Fork. I drive across lake and see where the most bait is located then I fish that depth. I did this when I fished for bass also.

For channel cats look for rocks/riprap. For blues, this time of year I catch them near flooded vegetation near the mouth of feeder creeks. For flatheads, big isolated stumps with LIVE perch.

Thanks again to all that have offered tips. Looking forward to hooking up with a few eaters for the skillet.
