Thinking about fishing Ray Roberts for the first time tomorrow. Can anyone tell me what it's like? Grass? Rock? Etc? What techniques you recommend?
Thanks.

Supposed to rain till around 11:00am, flip bushes and timber drag a worm on the rocky points out to 13 later in the day, grass hasn't come back yet

Got them on the spook and popR a few weeks ago, also on a shad swim bait.

The upper end of the lake is all timber and no boat lanes. You will need to take it slow and careful if you are fishing that section of the lake. The lower end is open until you get into the pockets or creeks. You will see where the timber starts.
The patterns seem to change every week. Fish your confidence baits / techniques until you stumble onto some fish. If not, there should be plenty of sandbass around if things get too slow.

Go Jimmy Houston 101, white or a white and chartreuse 3/8 ounce spinner bait with gold Colorado blades. Starting in Isle de bois and or Buck creek. Cover lots of water and keep a frog and fluke tied on for back up. The fish will dictate what you need to do as you learn the lake.

Was there yesterday (at Ray Bob) and it was tough. Saw many boats shallow early (really shallow). I suppose someone is catching them, but we struggled.

Heading there with a buddy in about 30 minutes. 2nd time fishing the lake, ever. Pretty much skunked last time. Gonna focus on the lower end of the lake. May bust out the slabs for sandbass until it cools off some more.
First time out in 3.5 months! whoo whoo!

The first hour this morning was productive with buzz baits. It was beautiful out there today.

Just got home, only 3 bass, 2 on the spook and one on the swim bait, missed a few on the spook also.
