My dad passed unexpectedly at home on the lake.He was 74. He was a heck of a guy, he took care of me & my little brother for 3 years by himself after our mother passed at 28 years of age . He remarried & He was a good stepdad to my stepbrother as well and a good husband to my stepmother.
He taught us old school values, hard work, no excuses and life don't owe you nothing,never pay another man to fix something you can fix or rebuild or repair yourself,period.
He taught me how to enjoy the outdoors ,he was a hell of a hand when it came to crappie fishing. He had a few dang fine bird dogs in his many years. He taught me and my brother to say yes sir and both of us how to run a shot gun. I did get to fish with him recently and had seen him 3 weeks ago in person. We talked weekly on the phone and I have not one regret about our relationship.I will miss him more than anything. If your Dads still with you do ole Gunz a favor, give him a call, tell him you love him and make time today to spend some time with him. Thanks guys.

Sorry for you loss. I lost my dad in 1993. You are right. You have no idea what you had, until you loose it and you can loose it in an instant.
