Despite all the negative news that's the way it is in most places I've been, but I haven't lived in a large urban area for a long time. But, even back in Charleston, S.C. it was pretty much like that, but that was mid-70s.

Serious question.............If its primarily derived from digital synthesis and sampling, how much actual credit for artistry should rap get for its product.

Serious question.............If its primarily derived from digital synthesis and sampling, how much actual credit for artistry should rap get for its product. lots of them are more like editors and/or producers instead of actual musicians, but then again I dont consider rap to be actual music anyway

There are some amazing lyricists . They aren't musicians per se but there is certainly talent in rap music.
