I too am a dog lover. I love my children and family more though.

If your pit bull dog mauls my children or any member of my family or any of my friends... them God help you.
I will not only kill the dog in the most brutal manner I can. I will kill you.
I pray that something like this never happens to me or mine because I will become the Devil himself.
I've seen to many killings and mauling s from this and other killer breeds of dog to have any compassion for these breeds or their owners.

Plus many pit bull owners do train them to be mean. An interesting observation by law enforcement is drug dealers usually have their pit bull dogs inside their home if they are not there especially if they are holding drugs inside the home. They are inside the home to protect it from intruders and you know those owners raised them to be mean.

For some reason, by BIL has had two psycho pets. One was a poodle who had been abused by a previous owner and she would nip and bite anyone. He now has a cat that will come up and let you pet her and just when she thinks she has you lulled into falsely believe she is a loving cat, she will scratch the dickens out of you. Crazy.

Sad deal, hope all works out for these kids and the dog gets put down and some kind of punishment for the owner incompetence as dog parent.. I'm no proponent of this breed but do wonder if the same folks who want to ban are the same Yahoo!'s that think that guns kill people and not people...

Entire breed should be exterminated. Totally useless, and hurts innocent people way too often. They're not a "status" symbol - they're a "stupid" symbol.

If they can't distinguish an inanimate object, from a living being that has capability (and has a documented history) of attacking and mauling on its own, then "yes" - potential exists for it being the same yahoos.

I find that little ankle biter owners are as irritating as the little ankle biters themselves.
That said those little ankle biters are not a real threat, they can hurt you but anyone can kick the carp out of one and it would be over.

But isn't it one's constitutional right to own the dog of their choice?
