Gear broke off and need a replacement. Whats the best way to do this so that I am not out of more money than what I am already fearing.

Get a replacement from Anglers they have an add in the classified.

Ronnie at X-treme Marine of North Rexas 817-366-3403. He may have a lower rwady to go with swapout/boot. Call him & leave message if he don't answer. He's elbow deep in work right now but if he's got one ready its quick & VERY reasonable $. He don't do replacements with SEI units. His are OEM units, rebuilt. He tries to keep some worked up & ready to go.
