Pappy Elkins Lake I've fished it a dozen times or so, caught a few small bass one time. Lots of fishing pressure, but I go fish it mostly to try out new equipment due to it being so close. Also, my three year old likes feeding the ducks. It's one of those places that I dont expect to catch any fish, but still go just because I enjoy it. Chris

I have fished it on and off for about 24 years. I haven't been out there the past year or so. It was once a great fishing hole with many huge bass caught. A friend of mine was there when the 13 lb. was caught. My best there was 6 lb. about 10 years ago. The pressure and people taking fish from it made it go downhill. In my opinion the changes that were made several years to clean it up hurt the fishing more than anything. They removed too much of the fishes cover and vegetation from the edges. Seemed like fishing got worse from that point on. I need to go back soon, I'm sure there are still good ones there.
It's just not what it used to be! My son even caught his first fish there so it has been a special place for me since I first fished it when I was 16.
