We will be staying on Lake Grapevine for a family reunion in two weeks. We will have cousins and BILaws. I will be pulling the boat from east Texas. The boys want to fish some.
I am asking for advice please. This will be a culture shock for me coming from east Texas to a metro lake. I would appreciate any pointers as far as baits, what to look for, need to bring, line size etc.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Bring life jackets. The lake gets crazy with the wake boats. And bring your normal fishing stuff...bass are still bass...even in the metro mess.

Topwater in the morning, hard to beat a pop r on the Vine... but if you have some wind a walking bait and buzzbait will get it done. Once that dies out a fish mid depth cranks on mainlake points and secondary points. Shakey head and drop shot on the same points if you cant get them to take a moving bait. Good luck!

It will be full of people with very little idea of what they're doing. Just be careful....

The boat traffic is never bad when I fish, which is usually only M-F these days, or sometimes early-to-mid mornings on the weekend. If there is a strong wind from a direction with the word "south" in it, which is the norm, the rocky points on the north shore line can be good for bass and whites. If you plan to keep any largemouth, note that Grapevine has a slot limit and you must return 14-18.
