I personally can't imagine trying to bass fish and constantly control the trolling motor with a remote. Especially fishing shallow. They also come with foot control

My Ultrex has automatic stow and deploy. ..it's called a "co-angler".

Terrova I pilot link love the new one plus you can have the foot pedal when you want it or remove it and just use the remote or both.

I personally can't imagine trying to bass fish and constantly control the trolling motor with a remote. Especially fishing shallow. I thought the same thing when I got my new boat with the Ulterra. I found myself using only the remote and my pedal is now sitting in the garage. I got a cover for my recessed TM tray and now I have another 18+ inches to walk around on the deck.

I have not used an ultrex. But as soon as I have enough pennies I will have one. I have used and xi5 Alot. Spot lock is great. Electric steer totally sucks. Let's say your running your TM with the remote. And you hook a giant and it raps you around a stump. With a normal foot pedal. You could go get the fish and have both hands on the rod and reel. I lost a ten plus this spring because I was trying to run the boat with a remote in one hand and rod in the other. Ultrex all the way

I've used both, if you are bass fishing you want the ultrex. You get a lot more precise control with the electric assist cable steering. As others have said you are trading the auto deploy, but that's a minor inconvenience in my opinion compared to be ability to wind through trees the way your used to. Or you could wait a year or two and I'm sure they'll have one that does it all.

I just don't see the benefit of auto deploy and stow being worth what you give up in the cable steer. Plus the Ultrex's assisted lift and stow makes it pretty dang easy to put it up and down.

The Ulterra auto boat launch would be nice...dump it in, deploy, mash spot lock, go park the truck.

Not sure I could whistle loud enough to get my boat to come back to me. Yep, I couldn't make myself trust it. I've used too many electronics to know better.

Yep...it would be cool. I'd use my Ultrex to take the Ulterra owner out to their boat. I'd spot lock just close enough for them to use their remote to bring their boat closer to mine.

The one time I wish I had auto stow is when I sit down in my seat and start the big motor, then realize I forgot to pull trolling motor up. Drives me crazy to have to take life jacket back off and walk back up there to stow it. Lol
