My new boat came with the 112# Fortrex and while this is an awesome trolling motor I really want a gps anchor and I have Lowrance electronics. I understand not having Hummingbird I lose a couple features but I am ok with that. The gps anchor is my main concern. Any input on which one to get?
TIA

Ultrex if you're bass fishing. No question.

You won't regret it. It is, by and far, the best thing I have ever added to my boat.
While I have birds, I don't have networking birds(Helix 7's) The only features you lose are contour following and room to store more tracks and spot locks. I think you can store 6 of each on its own. Not sure.
Just being able to sit in a spot in just about any weather is worth the money, add the very easy steering and cruise control and it's easily worth the money.
I was using a FX 21 with a Fortex 112 on it Thursday night and the hole time I was wishing I had my little Nitro.....because the Ultrex makes my boat better for fishing VS a $60,000 boat without it.

Keep the Fortrex for a spare, it will go on the Ultrex bracket.

I love my ultrex but I will admit, I saw a guy with the ulterra at the launch the other day and it looked pretty nice. Looked nice being able to sit at the drivers seat and deploy or stow and all that. I wouldn't trade mine though

My ulterra has help me fish more. Also easier to launch. And i have the option to run it as a foot control or remote. Plus i like the 60 inch shaft. I can sit in 25 mile per hour winds and just fish

I love my new Ulterra and I bass fish exclusively. So nice to be able to deploy/stow the motor from the drivers seat and then control it from anywhere on the boat. I even covered over the foot pedal well upfront since I only use the remote. Now I have a completely open front deck.

After 2 years of running electric steer, I really have no desire for cable steer so I like the liters for the easy deployment

I personally can't imagine trying to bass fish and constantly control the trolling motor with a remote. Especially fishing shallow.
