I can buy either a 23" Tempest plus, 23" Tempest "A45", or a 23" Turbo T1 all for the same asking price. It's for a merc Xr6 150hp on a Triton 186. Right now I have a 21" Laser prop that I'm over revving after installing a jack plate. She's running 58mph now at 5800rpm, 3.5" under pad. Looking to raise motor another 1/2" or so but bring down rpm to 5500-5600. Anyone have any input on which would be the better prop for my set up? I'm leaning towards the A45 and adding PVS holes to it but I'm concerned about durability.

I'm running the 23 Tempest Plus on my Tr186 w/xr6 jack plate at 3 1/2" ptp and hit 60-61ish with tournament load. Max RPM on a 01 xr6 is 5600 fyi.

I run a Tempest Plus 23 on my Avalanche 18DC 150EFI merc. no jack plate and with the motor trimmed up will hit 60 at 5600. Anymore trim and she over revs and gets an alarm. Been wanting to try a 4 blade 21 for better handling maybe? More speed ain't all that important to me but easier hole shot and easier handling at cruising speed 30-35mph would be nice.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

Raising the motor 1/2 inch will raise RPMs (with the same prop) and "could" decrease water pressure. Swapping to a prop with 2 inches "MORE" pitch will drastically decrease RPMs and possibly kill your hole-shot!!
Friend of mine runs basically the same boat but with a 150 Pro XS and is running a 1st Gen 26P Trophy without PVS holes. Loaded down with 2 guys and tourney load---I was impressed!

With the help of SCP I run a 23 pitch 4 blade trophy on a XR6 150, 18'3" Skeeter ZX 180. Me personally I would not go to a 3 blade love my 4 blade. Try a Trophy plus you may like it too. For full disclosure SCP blueprinted the Trophy and customised it to my hull. Hole shot is great top end is awsome now.

Steve installed and setup my jack plate and Josh did some hammer and grind and polish love on the Tempest Plus so I certainly trust anything they suggest.

on that combo..
23p a45 (leave the holes like they are) (may need to have cup work done) 6" plate... set at 3.25 below pad (test from there)
