I am planning a trip to Lake Fork next week for a Bass Tournament and have a question relating to boat lanes. The attached map shows you can run straight into the coves below Dale from the boat lanes. Is this safe to do even though there are no bouys.

No,no, no...Stay in the buoyed boat lanes. If there are no buoys, idle only.

That map can get you in trouble in several different areas. If no buoys then idle. There are a whole lot of unmarked runs but if don't know them then don't risk it not worth a lower unit or worse.

Most of the lanes on your map are way off. They are really just going down the center of the lake and coves. If you follow it you are looking for disaster. Stay with the buoys!

that is a scary map you have there. I would say the person who drew it is not your friend.

Let's say hypothetically that you had an accurate map there(you do not!) and those lines were accurate lanes(which they aren't!). How you going to follow those lines accurately? Even on the SRA buoyed lanes some areas are tight enough that if you are 10' off the lane you might find a stump. Follow the buoys closely or gat a Boatlanes Chip.

Some of those are generally okay but you shouldn't run them if you don't know them and have them marked on your gps.
Like others have said, some lanes are narrow and being off ten feet is trouble.
Many of those lanes on your map will put you in serious trouble.

Go and get Lance Vick's Boat Lanes. Purchase it and download to a chip. I wouldn't make that run if I were you.

Whoever made that map must sell lower units!
