Leaving out Sunday AM. Taking the travel trailers and staying in Custer near the state park. We will obviously do Mt. Rushmore and Custer state park.

What else do you heathens recommend?

If you've got kids, Bear Country USA is entertaining.

Beautiful place. Wish I was smart enough to buy a place in Sturgis 10 yrs ago when I went. My wife and I were considering heading up there in August (after the festivities) and dude ranching it.

Last summer deadwood had lots of street construction going on and it was a nightmare. Hopefully it's finished by now. It's really a beautiful thing to see just driving around the black hills by itself.and there's plenty to do and see.

So much to do. Badlands. Mt. Rushmore day and night. They have a really cool ceremony at night. Drive Iron Mountain Road and Needles Hwy in Custer State Park. While in the park ask one of the rangers where the buffalo herd is. They keep in contact via radio of sightings. Have lunch at Sylvan Lake Lodge. Spearfish Canyon. Have a steak at the Alpine Inn in Hill City. Lead and Deadwood. Wind Cave and Crystal Cave are really cool. Dive the cliff at Lake Pactola. The Hills are one of my favorite places.

Take the drive to Badlands National Park and be sure to stop at Wall Drug on the way.

Several restaurants in Custer offer bison steaks and burgers on their menus. Don't miss out if you get the chance.

If you're driving then you might go thru Alliance, Nebraska. If so, follow the signs and see Carhenge. It's a 100% to scale replica of Stonehenge, but made with old cars and trucks. It's also free!
