Just curious if anyone has been having any luck with smallmouth at Bridgeport , Texoma, or Grapevine. Would love to go smallie fishing somewhere soon.

Best bet is texoma. Bridgeport just luck into them. No idea about grapevine.

I thought about trying to take a few days off and heading out for 2-3 days and chase Smallmouth also. I thought about Texoma and Murry. I wouldn't know anywhere else. But I know little about fishing for smallmouth, but something I want to do.
I've chased them on Brokenbow once and didnt do any good, but it was bad hot in August.
Thanks, Billy

Murry is the closest "non [censored] shoot" for smallies from the DFW area. Devils or Pecos Rivers are are best smallmouth fisheries in Texas...period! Go figure: way north or way south! Belton is the best reservoir in Texas to possibly "expect" smallies within the state, IMHO. Good luck!

I was thinking Texoma myself, but I'm with Billy Blazer on his thoughts of not knowing much about them. Caught one at Squaw Creek along time ago and that rascal had more fight than any black I have caught.

Belton is the best reservoir in Texas to possibly "expect" smallies within the state, IMHO. Good luck! Just spent a week paddling the Pecos and did not catch one small mouth. I was surprised, I caught a ton on the Devils last time I was there but none on the Pecos. We caught quite a few nice large mouth. Around here I would go to Texoma and fish jerk baits, crank baits, and top waters close to the bluff walls if you want a good chance at catching smallies.
See you on the lake and have a great day!

The most I have caught in a day was on a float on the Elk River in Missouri, just north of Arkansas state line. The largest I have caught were a bit farther north: Green Bay on Lake Michigan (the bay, not the city).

I was on them a few weeks ago on Grapevine. Caught twelve in about 4 hours with the biggest at just under 21".

Slide right, coming in .... Fish On!
