Planning a fishing trip there next week with my son and need to book some accommodations. The problem is this lake is so massive I don't know where to start. Obviously close to where the fishing is but I never fished it before.

I've read a few fishing reports but none mention what part of the lake it is. So can you guys tell me what part of the lake I should be fishing and if you know of any good places to stay? I'm not in a bass boat so I don't have the speed to run around all over the lake.

How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?

Lake fork marina is a pretty good location to start with. Has good creeks next to it to fish so you don't have to drive far and places to eat close

If you're not wanting to make long runs across the lake, I would stay at Mustang Resort or Pope's Landing. Both are just off Hwy 17 on the Southwest side of the lake and you'll have easy to access to Mustang, Little Mustang and Williams, which are all excellent creeks to fish.

Hook line and sinker, the Minnow bucket rooms are nice too. Stayed there last year for skeeter owner.

Do any of these places allow you to keep your boat in the water? Private docks etc...???

P.S. Keep in mind the nr 1 priority is by far to be on a part of the lake where the fishing is good.

I wouldn't want to keep mine on the water because of the thefts. Feel a little safer emptying it and having it parked in front of my room
