Amistad is best by FAR fishing and water clarity
Wheeler branch, but cant take big boat any more

I'd say Amistad or Travis. Canyon Lake is pretty clear by the dam.

Biggest difference I've seen, is I can actually catch fish on Amistad that I can see.
If I see a bass on Alan Henry, its not even worth casting too, for me anyway.
I agree. Alan Henry can be such a pain in the rear I sometimes wonder why I even go there anymore.

Amistad or Alan Henry are on a different level compared to anywhere else in the state. Can easily be 15-20ft in the right conditions.

travis in the winter, runoff from the 14 golf courses they water has got it looking like pea soup right now

It's in east texas but Kurth Lake between Lufkin and Nac is the clearest I've ever seen. Kurth, consistently. I have seen the water at Texoma so clear, I thought I was I Destin. Amistad, too.
