This certainly hasn't been my experience, I feel like I get more Texas rigs flying back at me on hooksets than I do jigs. I could certainly be doing something wrong with the Texas rig, but I've done it a ton and feel that I've gotten the right combination with setup stuff like rigging, hook size, etc.

What Andrew was saying is that once hooked, the landing ratio is much higher on a TX Rig than a Jig. You're talking about the initial hookset, not the hook/landing ratio.

Many other fish species will peck at a TX rigged worm much more than they will a jig (bigger profile). Bream are the world's worst. Also, if fish are finicky or in spawn mode, they will pick up your soft plastic and move it, but will not inhale it all the way. This results in a swing and a miss.

Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

I agree. Now if you want a Tx. rig to compete with the jig you should be throwing a 10inch worm quite a bit.

I think if your losing fish on a jig you are doing somthing wrong, 2 stiff a rod, not reeling constantly. As gman says, grind like pencil sharpener.

Look up hacks comments about hooking them on a jig vs tex rig. He believes jig hooks them better

I absolutely think jig averages better bites...

In my experience yes...

Look at this years Classic, the top two finishers weighed winning fish off jigs.
