I am working on my dads 99 Johnson 130. It is leaking fuel from the vro pump and getting a no oil alarm. It is leaking gas and oil and it is coming from this cover just under the oil side. It appears to be cracked when I pump the bulb I can see fuel coming from the crack itself. Before I spend a bunch of money on a new pump or try and find a used pump with a good housing can can any one confirm I am on the right path.

Personally I would do away with the VRO and pre mix. Hop on here had a post that detailed how to put a low pressure fuel pump on from a small car or similar and just pre mix the fuel 50:1.
I have never trusted the vro's.

Mount pump close to the fuel tank. Connect the fuel inlet and outlet of the VRO pump together. Remove the VRO pump, oil tank, oil hoses and wires. Connect the red power wire of the electric fuel pump fused to the purple wire going to the VRO pump. Connect the black wire to any ground.

I have added a push pump at the tank like gary posted, the mr gasket pumps are not meant to pull fuel as far as I was from the tank. follow garys directions and mix at 50:1

I should have told him this needs a low pressure (2.5 to 5 psi) with a minimum of 42 gph, self-priming pump. I have added a push pump at the tank like gary posted, the mr gasket pumps are not meant to pull fuel as far as I was from the tank. follow garys directions and mix at 50:1
