Over 40 years. My mom says that my dad had me out fishing on his boat when I was two years old AND I was reeling fish in by myself.

55, grandpa had a summer home on the channel between Long Lake and Fox lake in northern Illinois. I spent summers with him fishing either in his boat or off his dock.

About 39 years I guess. I think I caught my first fish when I was around five.

I'm 77 1/2 years old and my Mom and Dad were bass fishermen so I'm guessing 73 years.....I can remember having my own rod and reel which was a Shakespeare wondereel and montague steel rod and I was probably 7-8 years old....those were not free spool reels and I'm sure I picked a lot of backlashes out til my thumb got "educated"...

61 or 62 years that I can remember.That's fishing year round and bass fishing seriously for past 47 years.
