Just wanna hear what yall have to say about these reels when they are used in the salt. Are they durable? Do they last? are they smooth? Just wanting to see. I'm a big lews and abu guy but have never herd of anyone using daiwa.

I do and I've been pleased with them. Started with a Coastal Inshore Special bait caster after reading a stellar review on Tackle Tour. It turned out to be as good as the reviewers claimed. I also use a TD Advantage 3000A spinning reel that has been just as reliable. Both are older models which shows they have been in use for several years. I also have a Procyon spinning reel but the cautions for damaging the MAG SEALED function keep me from using it in saltwater. Check out the review by Alan Hawk of the new BG SW spinning reels.

I've had a Sealine X 30SHV for over 10 years now and used it in California for smaller grade yellowfin tuna and yellowtail. I'm currently using it for surf fishing around Galveston now, this reel has been indestructible. I also have a Lexa300 I used for saltwater bass in California and it has been a great baitcaster.

I use Daiwa BGs for both fresh and salt and have been happy with my decision. I did so, in part, based on this: http://www.alanhawk.com/reviews/bg16.htmlHope that helps.
