Question: why do you keep pushing the button on your reel when playing a fish? That's a big no no, let that drag do it's job. That is the way it was done waaay back when reels had junk drags or direct drive and no drags! I would also like info on the yak!

No it's actually something lost professional anglers do instead of using drag. yeah that's really weird. The reason you thumb spool is because you can instantly put any amount of pressure on the fish quickly without taking a hand off reel handle to adjust drag.

I thought people in kayaks only drank those fruity craft beers. I've been shopping hard for a yak of my own, but I only drink Keystone. Do the other kayakers make fun of you?

Way I've done it for years. Even with $300 reels I don't trust a drag enough. Thumbing spool gives instantaneous results
