Choc-O-Bloc to the main lake is a massive stump field. As for the fishing,Blue Fleck has always been good for me. Plenty of stuff to fish, from shallow brush to deep rocky banks.

He said it well, watch running up the river, you can find just about any sort of structure you want to fish. I have even seen a pad fields. So go fish your strengths and your going to catch them. Its a fun lake with a good amount of quality fish just about everywhere. Black blue jigs, June bug senkos, and chart. colored crank-baits have always been my go too there. During the fall the top water bite can be good too

Well I went. It was tough until that evening. Caught about 7 fish all day. Water was pretty muddy for most part.

Next trip try up the river. Go under the bridge at Choc-O-Bloc then about a mile to the S-Bend in the river. Lots of big fish on the lip of the channel on hardwoods and duckweed patches. Black/Blue Jig will get the job done. Best area is just coming out of the bend at the Willow Switch on the right. It has a boat entrance to get out of the ditch toward the shore. This allows you to fish the whole willow switch on the back side.
The Duckweed patches along the lip of the channel has been good to me throwing a Fluke with a tiny pinch weight at the nose. Farther up the river the spinner bait gets good in White/Chart. 3/8 oz with small silver colo. blade and Gold Willow blade. Fish it with a single curly tail Grub trailer in white but not too long in length. Once you get way up the river a couple of miles the fallen tree lay-downs will produce with a small 5" Black/Blue Flake Power Lizard with a blue tail on a 1/4 oz. Trig. Peg your weight and work the ends of the fallen trees.
It is beautiful up the river. You will enjoy the day of there.

If you go up the river idle it from the bridge. The channel is non existent until you actually get to the river itself and there are huge stumps everywhere.
Retirement best job ever.

Was there last weekend for our annual family reunion. It was pretty windy but our best spot was the ridge between the main shore and the island. Caught a school of them in the evening and it was one every cast just about.
I'll have to go up the river next time and fish as I have only been in that area once.
