 how can I clean corrosion from lead head jigs

I recently found about 2000 1/16 oz. crappie jig heads at a flea market. They have a chalk like corrosion on the head. Does anyone have an easy method to clean these to remove the corrosion that will not damage the hooks? I started with a small wire brush but that sure takes a lot of time. CLR does not work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

soak them for a few minutes in vinegar then rinse and dry them and they will look like new again
|

I have only used the regular white vinegar when I needed to clean them

ospho should work, or if you try the vinegar, go to heb they have an extra strength at 9% not 5 or 6 %. muriatic acid if all else fails.

The white chalk is lead oxide. White vinegar is great stuff. I mix it with salt to clean copper also.
Fishin' to stock Lake Crisco.

Dang,I just rub them with my fingers and string'em up  They still work like the new ones . . . . . .
