Last year I took my then 8 year old grandson to Palestine for catfishing. Normally he's not one to sit and watch a bobber, he'd rather chunk and wind a lipless crankbait. The catfish were in shallow, 2-5 feet deep, so his bobber never stood up he was catching em so fast. Took him earlier this spring and we couldn't find em. Everyone said the storms had the lake messed up, it wasn't warm enough.
Can anyone tell me if the catfish are in shallow water or not?
Thanks, RandyMan

The dinks are shallow for sure, the bigger ones must be out deeper. My boys caught em every 3-4 min off the dock in 5 ft, none big enough to eat but fun for kids.
