All week long 20 & 30 mph winds.

Puts a serious dent in the fishing/golf activities.

Took yesterday and today off to fish before the holiday crowds hit the lake. And of course it blows 30 mph both days. realmad

It has been awful here in the mountains around Taos. Last two days 35-50 MPH

Before I ever thought of moving to Texas I lived in Missouri. Got involved with a big informal golf tourney up there where guys invite all kinds of friends and toss stupid money around for a weekend. One of the days, this guy played in our group and he hit the sweetest, low screaming straight drives I've ever seen to this day. I made a comment about his skills and he told me that he was from West Texas and you learn to hit them like that or you take up a different hobby.

Still remember that vividly but didn't really understand till I got down here.

Yep, you learn to do that out there. I lived out there for a couple of years. Either you learn to play the wind or you don't play.
