Had a great trip to Bardwell this afternoon with my wife. Caught 62 crappie with 37 keepers in about six hours of fishing. Nothing huge but plenty of solid fish and all fish released today. Big fish of the day was 14" and just shy of 1.5lbs. All fish were caught in 3'-7' of water on 1/16oz pink jigs with Bobby Garland baby shad in licorice-chartreuse pearl and sour grape Slab Bandits. They either hit it on the fall or wanted it held completely still. Completely opposite from last weekend when they wouldn't touch the jig unless it was swimming or swinging. Evening was capped off with a beautiful sunset. Very blessed today.

Awesome fish Miles! It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife today. Sure glad you got into them. It's nice to be on a lake that is not quite so busy.

I just noticed the racing stripe. I hadn't caught one in awhile, then caught 2 at the bridge today.

I also caught two striped crappie yesterday. And yes! It was a treat nearly having the lake to ourselves. Reminded us of a lake we used to go to in Missouri. We could cruse the entire lake on a Saturday evening and only pass one or two other boats.

where is that lake? Lake Bardwell, east of Ennis, off Hwy 34. Not many lakes in North Texas that you can say that about. LOL!
