I have not heard of him in a long time. That made me remember one from way back in the early eighties, Roy Hathcock. People would meet him at Hardwicks store, that was where the go karts are now.

Not to hijack your thread or anything but I went with a guide out there when I was like 13 years old named Tom Ramp. I wonder what happened to that dude. I was told he left the lake after the first big algae bloom but idk. A lot of guys knew him back in the late 90's.

This guy left PK after the Alge Bloom and guided Lake Conroe for some time in the 90's and early 2000's. One of his clients holds the Lake Conroe hybrid record at 14.78lbs. I've heard stories about him, and just wondered if he's still around...

He fished we me several times in recent months for fun. He is 80 years old and had shoulder surgery recently. Before the shoulder surgery he could throw cast net better than anyone I know.

That's awesome! I knew he was gettin up there. This was probably 16 or 17 years ago. I remember he knew my step dad and repaired boats. I remember he had a pet flathead in his shop in a big tub that he showed me haha. Good to see he's well.
