Looking to get any info I can on the best place to launch a boat on Lake Medina. I am new to the lake and recently moved to Medina County. From my research, it appears that Joes Place is an option but their website says $15 a day to just launch a boat. Another option I found was the Bandera County park. Their website says $10 to launch a boat but also says a $5 per person access fee. (Not sure if you would have to pay both if only launching a boat). The Bandera County also says it is open 8am-8pm. Is this true for just launching a boat?
Again, any info or other cheaper options that may be available would be appreciated.

Fish123,
Joe's and Red Cove are close together and both are $15. The county park is $10 and that includes admission and yes, it is 8-8. They have gates they normally close. Other than those, unless someone else opens up, I do not know of any other public facilities.

County park is only charging on weekends right now, so during the week and it's free. But it might be a long miserable drive depending on where you coming from. I think they start charging daily prices in May or late April.

$10 to launch at Co Park. $15 for other two ramps.....No add'l charge per person. Be prepared to deal with "special people"... launched there last weekend and the jet skis with paper tags were thick. As stated above the road to the Co Park is curvy and takes forever. There are no other cheaper ramps. There are tons of private ramps around if you know someone.

You can launch at Whartons dock but I don't know the stipulations. Or at least I think you can launch there, because my buddy did.

I'm at Medina Lake enough that I purchase a season pass for the County Park. It's $75 this year but considering I've already been to the lake 9-10 times since January it's a must have for my family.

Texas Parks and Wildlife restocked the lake after it filled back up from the severe drought it went through. It may be a few years before the fish are in the large pound range again like it use to be. The lake water is in great shape for boating at present though and through summer.
