Denton creek. It's off hwy 377 in roanoke, TX. The creek feeds into Grapevine lake. Lot of white bass in there.

Fished murrel park today, lots of good bank areas not lots of action I did see people catching on live bait. I was throwing artificial, senkos, brush hogs and rattle traps. A few strikes nothing caught. It was extremely windy but the coves weren't too bad. I did catch a ton of trash and someone else's senko. That was different.
I may try the creek tomorrow morning thanks Bubba.

I strongly suspect that most of the whites have left Denton Creek to return to Lake Grapevine by now. I have been catching quite a few whites and a few largemouth along the Murrell and Twin Coves shorelines (you cannot get into Twin Coves Park because it is closed for remodeling; I paddled over there from Murrell). I also noticed a few folks catching whites from shore by casting a bottom rig with shad as far off a point as they could throw the bait. Talked with another guy who had caught several largemouth from shore using a Texas-rigged worm. Strong southern winds blow the shad up against the northern lake shoreline along with the predators.

Appreciate the info, I'll definitely be going back. I did more exploring than real fishing today.

I will be in this area for a wedding this weekend. Anyone had any luck at North Lake Park in Denton? It looks as if they have two decent sized ponds. Any advice is much appreciated!

At North Lake the pond directly off Bonnie Brae st holds some very nice bass. My PB on that pond is 7 lb but they can be finicky.
