I am taking my dad out for the first time tomorrow and was wondering if anyone had any tips on where to go. I went out last week and caught a few in a cove north of Jordan park but wanted to get him on more than just a handful of catfish. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Same deal with me, except im taking the wife again. We went out this morning and not even a bite. I went out yesterday evening and got 5 in about an hour, with 2 being about 8 lbs each, just nothing this morning

Good luck DCB. I think I'm going to launch from lone oak bridge and work my way up north. There's an old river bed there so maybe we will have some luck.

Sunday 14th is BC on my Catfish Calendar. Actually, this is the 4th of a 5 day BC run. So gear up for Blues. (See my thread)
DCB- maybe you hit just as they were taking a break during the middle of the run.
I know on the YC (YellowCat) days, Jeff & James (my two earlier prize Calendar students) told me their biggest Yellows tended to hit the 1st or 3rd day of the 3 day runs. Almost as if they were taking a break in the middle.

May be, I went out Saturday evening with the wife and on got 2 bites, and 2 fishing the boat. Both were channels, at about 2 lbs, and one was full of eggs. Im probably just in the wrong spot, fished anywhere from 1' to 15' of water with Threadfin shad (FRESH), danny kings, CJ's, Chicken breast, and Sudden Impact. Caught one on Danny Kings, and the other on Chicken Breast. Im at a loss

We went Sunday morning and caught 4 blues in chicken breasts. Same depth but the bites were few and far between.

Are you chumming? I had a report of a 37 fish catch on Lake Brownwood in 2 to 3 feet of water on corks. Chummed with soured wheat and cheese bait on the hook. I know it's not RR but it is springtime so the pattern might work there also.

Range cubes from Tractor Supply if you don't have anything soured.
