Since we are talking just insects here. The worst I've been hit by was bullet ants. Tarantula hawk and scorpion and asp are next below that. Bullet ant belongs higher on his scale. I know it only goes to 4 but bullet ant should get a 5.
I don't know what ever happened to my collection of strange, rare, and dangerous bugs when we left the Amazon jungle, but I'm sure Tallgrass would have enjoyed it. Bunch of little sealed jars of alcohol with bugs inside. Had one black scorpion about 7 inches long. Bullet ants are bada**. I have a friend who is one of the toughest people I have ever met. He was stung twice on the back (fell down into his shirt) in Costa Rica and basically passed out from the pain.

I did not know bumble bees lived in the ground until I mowed over a nest with a brush hog. Those bastards hit me 2x before I could hit high gear and get out. Left bruises on my head, and the pain was respectable. Now like wasps, scorpions, yellow jackets and ants I kill bumble bees onsite. Why cant we all just get along?

Got hit by some kind of black wasp in the forearm. I could not lift my arm for 15 minutes. I will take that over the long term itch from a yellow jacket. Got stung last year and the dang thing itched like crazy for days.

Our dog got stung by bumble bees at our old house and we noticed every time we walked by the wood pile we would see them. Come to find out they had built their nest in the woodpile where a bunch of grass clippings had been blown into. That was a task getting them out. You had to move one log at a time and fight off the next wave of bumble bee defenders, lol. Just left the gate open so we could run out after spraying them (that was back in the 70's when there wasn't good wasp/hornet spray. Finally got to the bottom and the ground was buzzing and the grass clippings moving from the swarm under it. My Dad dropped about 1/2 gallon of gas on it quickly and that ended it.
