I don't think there is one. If I'm fishing timber or brushpiles vertically I use an 8' Pro Angler w a cheap baitcaster. If I'm swimming a jig over a pile I use a 7' G Rod and a cheap spinning reel, if I'm shooting docks or fishing bridge pilings I use a 5'8" Bonehead and a cheap spinning reel. We've left alot of money on the table the last 2 years not using strictly Pro Anglers but I don't want to limit myself. There's lots of good products on the market now days. Crappie fisherman have it pretty good now!! thumb

once you get into it you will have more rods. I have a 4'6" for dock shooting. 10" rod for brush less than 14' 8'rod for deeper brush. Reels are not as important as rods. Anything to hold line. Line I use is Viscious hi vis 6 lb. Breaks off without messing up piles when hung. good luck

If you're on a budget, A Pro Angler rod and a 500 series Shimano reel make a nice combination. If the budget allows, a G rod with the same Shimano reel is sweet, very light combination.

What he said...I use the 15# Power Pro yellow so I can see it...Vanish Flouro leader tied w a uni to uni knot...usually a 10-12# leader...caught many carp and kitties with that up to 35 pounds. Surgeons knot...sometimes tandem...good to go! You got a great combo btw!

A little off topic, but I caught this kitty this morning on Power Pro Slick 15# with a Red Label 10# leader. He bent that G rod double several times.
